Long County Schools Add Weapons Detection System to Multi-Layered Safety Measures

Parents and Students,
We have been made aware of a phishing email that was recently sent out, claiming to be from our school or district. Please do not open or respond to this email, as it is not legitimate and could compromise your personal information.
Due to the forecast for potential unsafe conditions, Long County Schools will be closed for students and staff on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 21-22. All athletic activities and practices are cancelled for these dates. District administrators will continue to work closely with local EMA officials to monitor our weather conditions. Additional announcements will be made Wednesday concerning our plans for returning to normal operations. Please prepare for the possibility that the school closure may need to be extended through Thursday. Reminder: We are also closed tomorrow, January 20, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
The Ring Ceremony scheduled for Monday, December 9 at 6 p.m. has been moved to 7 p.m. due to the flag football state playoffs.
HOSA had an amazing time at the Fall Leadership Conference in Athens. They had the opportunity to build teamwork, strengthen leadership skills, and network with other students.

We are so proud to be named a Georgia Math Leader school based on our students' performance on the 23-24 Algebra Georgia Milestones EOC. We were #1 in growth for our RESA Region with 70% high growth! This is due to the hard work of our teachers and students. The Blue Tide truly is the best!
🏈🏈🏈 Any student who brings five (5) canned goods to donate to our canned food drive tomorrow will receive a FREE ticket to tomorrow’s football game. The canned goods must be brought to the high school before noon, not to the football field. Sales on $8 early tickets will end at 12 noon tomorrow!!

Exciting News! Our JROTC cadets had the incredible opportunity to attend the ENGAGE Conference in Atlanta! They joined other young leaders from across Georgia, participating in inspiring sessions, team-building exercises, and leadership workshops designed to empower and prepare them for success.

Senior Retake Pictures are this Wednesday (November 6)! Seniors who need their pictures taken must sign up for an appointment. Any senior who does not have his/her picture taken with the school photographer will NOT be included in the yearbook. Wednesday is the last chance!
Dual Enrollment Information
We had a great turn out yesterday for our Dual Enrollment parent meeting. If you need any assistance or have any questions about Dual Enrollment be sure to stop by the media center during Parent Teacher Conference Night, October 29th from 3-6pm.
