2008-09 OFFICERS

 

The Long County Touchdown Club consists of parents, grandparents, alumni, coaches, teachers, administrators, and community members who serve as a support organization to the football program.  We support the program by raising funds to support players (Varsity, Junior Varsity, and C-Team), improve facilities, and purchase needed equipment.  We strive to provide the best conditions for our athletes to play under and to enhance the sharing of school spirit.

We meet every Tuesday during the football season; then on the second Tuesday of every month during the off-season, at 7:00 p.m. in the football team field house located at the stadium.

Due to budget cuts and increased player participation, our football program relies heavily on individual sponsors and businesses to provide financial support.  Parents, alumni, businesses, and the community are encourage to get involved by joining the Touchdown Club or just volunteering your time and/or donating money towards our fundraising efforts.  With your support, we are able to invest in our youth’s future.

We have fundraisers throughout the year but our main ones right now are:

A Golf Tournament in May of each year.

A Lift-a-Thon during the summer in the High School Gym.

A Rodeo in early fall in memory of Shawnee McGowan at the NC Ranch in Ludowici.

A Chili Cook-off & Auction at the end of the season.

Your participation – at any level – will greatly impact the quality of our football program.  Join us in our efforts to ensure our children will have everything they need to achieve the success they deserve.    Any investment is greatly appreciated and used wisely to make our facility and program the best for our children.

Students are encouraged to get involved.  Colleges, vocational schools, scholarship providers and employers are favorably impressed by a student’s record of service within the community.  Keep a record of your community service.  They consider such things as school involvement and accomplishments, level of leadership position held, and length of service or commitment to an organization.  Volunteerism teaches unselfishness, develops leadership skills, and teaches practical problem solving.
